Weekend Watch (Feb 10-12, 2012)

With no football, I am lost! But luckily there is always NCAA Men’s Basketball to keep my sports addiction satisfied.

NCAA Men’s Basketball – Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt (Feb 11, 9PM, ESPN)
Saas-level: Spaghetti Saas, Hot Saas

Kentucky is good, no one will deny that, but are they good enough to win it all? I’m not sure. They blow out everyone they play, but all their quality wins have come at home or a neutral site. I am just not sold on the Wildcats yet. I need them to go to a hostile environment against a quality opponent and win a close one. Vandy is talented team that can play. They will need to slow down the game and not run with Kentucky. No one runs with Kentucky. Still, Vandy has a good shot to take down the giant of the SEC.

NCAA Men’s Basketball – Michigan State vs. Ohio State (Feb 11, 6PM, ESPN)
Saas-level: Chipotle Saas

Two elite defenses and two great teams make for one great game. The Spartans and Buckeyes will produce the game of the weekend, no doubt in my mind. Coach Izzo always has teams that are battle tested and battle hungry. No better team to battle against in the Big Ten then Ohio State with Sullinger leading the way. Expect a beat-it-out, low scoring style of game with lots of rebounding.

NCAA Men’s Basketball – Virginia vs. North Carolina (Feb 11, 1PM, ESPN3)
Saas-level: Spaghetti Saas

Mike Scott has been impressive. What’s more impressive is how Scott’s play has made Virginia a team that everyone hopes to avoid during the dance. If the Cavilers want to be a serious contender, they need to win on the road. They have an opportunity to do just that at North Carolina, but the Tar Heels are looking to relieve some anger from their heartbreak lost to Duke.
Tsaasify Nod: North Carolina

NCAA Men’s Basketball – Louisville vs. West Virginia (Feb 11, 12PM, ESPN)
Saas-level: Chipotle Saas, Ole Gold Saas

West Virginia needs to finish games. I am sick of watching my Mountaineers go down early, come back to make unnecessary drama in the last few minutes, take the lead, and then blow it due to bad end game decision making.  Come on Mountaineers! They host Louisville this weekend in a must-win.  Hopefully , the Cardinals are overlooking the slumping Mountaineers and looking ahead of their schedule, where they play Syracuse Monday night. PLUS! There will be a special appearance from the Saasation. So they better perform.

Golf - AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am (Feb 10, 3PM, Golf Channel, Feb 11-12, 3PM CBS)
Saas-level: Gravy Saas

If you like a low-scoring tournament or just wish to Watch Tiger Woods play golf, then you have something to look forward to this weekend. For the purist, Johnson and McIroy are play solid golf so far.  Watch for these two, as I see them becoming golf’s next big rivalry.
Tsaasify Nod: Not Tony Romo

NBA – Chicago vs. Boston (Feb 12, 3:30PM, ABC)
Saas-level: Spaghetti Saas

Two of the best teams in the east will throw it down Sunday afternoon. Derrick Rose is always a treat to watch, and the Boston Trio are surprisingly keeping up with the condensed schedule. For the pro ball fans, make time for this game.
Tsaasify Nod: Chicago

TV – The Walking Dead (Feb 12, 9PM, AMC)
Saas-level: Chipotle Saas

Finally the second half of season two of The Walking Dead will be airing! I need my post-apocalypse, zombie filled survival story addiction filled.  I am excited to see how Hershel reacts to the slaughter of walkers in his barn. Will Rick ever kick Shawn’s butt? What about Sophia? I need answers!
Tsaasify Nod: My recliner and a beer
