Weekend Watch (Feb 17-19, 2010)

The Mountaineers aren’t playing this weekend! I’m not sure if I know how to enjoy my weekend without WVU Basketball. Luckily there are these games to keep my Linsanity.

NCAA Men’s Basketball – Saint Mary’s vs. Murray State (Feb 18, 6PM, ESPN)
Saas-Level: Chipotle Saas

A mid-major showdown! Saint Mary’s and Murray State are both quality teams that can do damage in the post season. Both teams want this win to help punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament no matter the outcome of their respectful conference tournaments. Saint Mary’s plays in a tougher conference and has shown resilience on the road. Murray State is looking for a quality win to boast their resume.

NCAA Men’s Basketball – Marquette vs. Connecticut (Feb 18, 12PM, ESPN)
Saas-Level: Spaghetti Saas

I’ve been fascinated by the Golden Eagles’ play in the Big East. These boys love to run the floor, and I believe are the best in the country in doing so. UConn hasn’t been up to its norm lately. With Calhoun still out, the Huskies are at a loss. This game is more about Marquette and the national attention the team will be getting. Can they handle the media attention and continue to play at an outstanding level?

NCAA Men’s Basketball – Ohio State vs. Michigan (Feb 18, 9PM, ESPN)
Saas-Level: Spaghetti Saas

I feel like these teams played recently…..oh wait, they did. Nevertheless, these are still two good teams in the best conference in men’s basketball. Ohio State looks like the best team in the country to me, but playing their rival at Michigan is no easy task. If Coach Beilein’s team knocks down their 3’s, expect this to be a potential upset.

NCAA Men’s Basketball – Kansas State vs. Baylor (Feb 18, 1:30PM, ESPN3)
Saas-Level: Chipotle Saas, Hot Saas

Baylor has been struggling recently. So has Kansas State. Both teams want to jump start their momentum to the post-season with a good win. Expect a rough, tough-it-out style of game, especially with Frank Martin’s style.

NBA – San Antonio vs. LA Clippers (Feb 18, 3:30PM, FOX SW)
Saas-Level: Spaghetti Saas

Popovich is once again doing what he does best: getting the most out of his team. He’s been limiting Duncan’s and Ginobili’s minutes and getting the young bloods to pick up the slack. They’ve won 9 straight and are making a threat in the West. The Clippers are stacked with talent. The Chris Paul-Blake Griffin connection is eye candy. No one throws it down like Blake. He is a beast.
Tsaasify Nod: San Antonio

NBA – Dallas vs. New York (Feb 19, 1PM, ABC)
Saas-Level: Chipotle Saas

LINSANITY!!!!! I’m not one to often get involved in the hype, but something about the way Jeremy Lin has been playing is just outrageous. His 38 points against the Lakers spoke wonders to what is actually happening. He has handled the pressure and hype the media has made, though if Melo comes back for the Dallas game, I wonder how the team chemistry will be affected. Melo is an elite player, but his style of play does not flow well with Lin and Stoudemire hyper-express offense.

TV – The Walking Dead (Feb 19, 9PM, AMC)
Saas-Level: Chipotle Saas

What was Lori doing rushing off to find Rick, Glen, and Hersel? They boys were fine and not gone long enough to worry about. Stupid pregnant woman! Also, Rick has a dark side? Is a potential war about to brew with some outsiders? How about among themselves? What happened to Beth? I need answers!
