Weekend Watch (Feb. 24-27)

NCAA Men’s Basketball – Marquette vs. West Virginia (Feb 24, 9PM ESPN)
Saas-Level: Spaghetti Saas, Ole Gold Saas

West Virginia is useless against the zone. They can’t shoot. They can’t penetrate with the dribble. Mostly importantly, transitional defensive is not even part of their lexicon. Why is that most important? Because the Golden Eagles run the court in a fashion I haven’t seen since Loyola Marymount’s teams of the late 80’s. I love my Mountaineers, but I don’t see this ending well this Huggins’ team.
Tsaasify Nod: Marquette

NCAA Men’s Basketball – Syracuse vs. Connecticut (Feb 25, 9PM, ESPN)
Saas-Level: Spaghetti Saas, Hot Saas

UCONN is coming off the big win over Villanova. That might be the jump start this team needs to finish the season strong and sneak into the NCAA tournament. Their first test will be the hardest. Syracuse is playing like the first seed team they are. Fab Melo is making his presences known in the middle. Can the Huskies without Calhoun bring the energy and guts to take on the Orange stout zone defense?
Tsaasify Nod: Connecticut

NCAA Men’s Basketball – Missouri vs. Kansas (Feb 25, 4PM, CBS)
Saas-level: Chipotle Saas

This is a rematch that has attached not only the Big 12 title at hand, but also bragging rights for a long time to come. Probably the best match-up of the weekend, Kansas will be coming strong with Robinson and a front court that is the best rebounding team in the league. Missouri has been playing like an elite team all season, and with players like Denomn playing like they did in the previous win over Kansas,  this is a group of experienced players that know how play together.
Tsaasify Nod: Kansas

NCAA Men’s Basketball – Wisconsin vs. Ohio State (Feb 26, 4PM, CBS)
Saas-level: Chipotle Saas

Another good match-up. Wisconsin has no wins against the best of the Big Ten, so they need to win some quality games (other than ILL and IND) to improve their seeding come tournament time. Unfortunately, Ohio State has been a beast at home, excluding their Kryptonite, Michigan St.
Tsaasify Nod: Ohio State

NBA – NBA All-Star Game (Feb 26, 8PM TNT)
Saas-Level: Gravy Saas

If you like high school, no defense, and elite players showing off their talent, well the All-Star game is for you. If you feel like all All-Star games are boring like I do, I suggest you find something else to do that night (prime example is the last item on the list)
Tsaasify Nod: Who cares.

NFL – 2012 NFL Scouting Combine (Feb 24-28, NFL Network)
Saas-Level: Gravy Saas

There is the combine for those peeps who are so hardcore about their teams they need to know everything about every player to make sure their beloved team gets the best possible pick up.
Tsaasify Nod: Watch them when they play games!

TV – The Walking Dead (Feb 26, 9PM, AMC)
Saas-level: Chipotle Saas

You have no idea how excited I am for this week’s episode. A gun-slinging Hersel. Lori influencing her husband to deal with Shane. Beth is still mysteriously ill. What are they going to do with the guy they blind folded from the town who was shooting at them? So many possibilities! Also, interesting tidbit for fans, the title isn’t named after the zombies. It is a reference to the living.
Tsaasify Nod: Rick FTW
